Could not disagree more. Matt Smith is superb and brings his own unique character to the role. All aspects considered, I give David Tennant the edge as I think he was more convincing when the stories got emotional.

I know that we are going to need to agree to disagree on this one, but I can at least say that it's nothing to do with how long he's been on; I thought he was a poor choice from the very start |

When the producers decide to pick an unknown for the role, there will be an uphill struggle for the actor. Matt was criticised before he ever appeared on the screen! Some of that due to people feeling Tennant should have stayed forever ![]() I think he has lifted himself beyond such trivial matters and worked hard and deserves praise for that if nothing else LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby LOT (Lord of Time) - University of Gallifrey |

Honestly, it has nothing to do with whether or not he was an unknown, his age or whether Tennant should have stayed on. I'm solely judging him on his merits as an actor and the way he is trying to portray the character. On both counts he is, IMHO, a disaster.

Amy is good and I will miss her in the show but Matt is a superb actor no question and has brought an excellent aspect to the character. Tennant seemed to have the weight of the universe on his shoulders but Smith's Doctor hardly ever makes reference to his past and Gallifrey. Cleverly however, Smith brilliantly shows the internal conflicts about The Doctors life and how he needs a companion with him in the Tardis.

Poor girl must have fainted! It's clear her friend has removed all restrictive clothing and is checking her vital signs before administering mouth to mouth ![]() The St Johns manual was never illustrated like that when I had to read it. ![]() |
