Hi
Had a 60k service today and uncovered a leaking Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve

looking at £350 fat notes.............anyway then it dawned on me that i bought an AA Gold warranty................. which then f ing excludes "exhaust systems"

the garage bint on the phone wasn't technical and didnt really kniowing her stuff and the boss is back next week who will leadd the fight with the AA ......

if there are any warranty warriors out there ...whats me chances?

If the AA warranty is anything like the "breakdown insurance" where they pay up to £500 to the cost of breakdown repairs then you are wasting you time.

Radiator cover is mention 3 times in the advertising blurb, the read the small print - whats not covered is:
corrosion, erosion, damage caused by freezing, wear and tear, blockages, and accident damage.
I think that leaves meteor strike and atomic fallout.

definately excludes filling it with mud  Tangiers Orange - gone, missing her
Replaced by Ewok what a mistake - now a happy Disco Sport owner

egr valve is not part of the exhaust system its bolted to the inlet manifold and takes a certain amount of gases from the exhaust front pipe fight your corner and ask to speak to somebody higher up who knows something about engines get some separate advice from a dealer don't be fobbed off by some office clerk reading from a sheet this valve is part of the emission system and does not contribute in any way of silencing exhaust noise  rainy-city

please keep us posted of the outcome as I too have an AA gold star policy on my other cars ! always been nervous about ever having to claim !
That said my main dealer recommended the AA .
