Hi Gang,

So my precious little Rover has developed a new quirk. it's an 08 I6 petrol with 100,000km on it, no mechanical issues up till now.

When I am at a complete stop, in drive, the idle is a little rougher than when the vehicle is moving. Also if i switch to neutral, or park, the idle smooths out. it's almost as if there is too much resistance in the transmission when stopped. Nothing serious, it just bothers me and it didn't do it before.

Anybody have any ideas?

I had a similar issue on a different vehicle. Those exact symptoms. It ended up being the engine mounts. Cuatro Por Cuatro

your car is depressed its not a manual?

I am depressed it's not a manual, but the truck should be happy because I like to shift a little "agressivley" shall we say.

I am going to ask Rover about it at the next oil change, coming up in a week. Are engine mounts easy to replace? I'm thinking not...

I am taking pure theory here as I haven't looked at the mounts yet, but if there is access, you could use a crowbar to pry the mounts apart to give you access long enough for a mate with an extra pair of hands to get the old mount whipped out and the new one in place ready for the bolt, doing one at a time, obviously - rinse, wash, repeat?
