The battery cover on my 2010 Freelander is too long. The back clips on fine, but the front then overlaps the battery box by a couple of centimetres. The dealer has said often the covers are not a good fit, but this seems rather excessive.

certainly does seem too deep to catch the front set of clips ?

It will fit if you mess with it for long enough, but dont worry because the dealer cant fit them either, mines always loose when it comes back, so I have to do it all again. |

Thanks for the thoughts everyone...a bit if jiggling and wriggling and it has clipped into place both at the front and at the back. At the same time I did find the earth lead was loose on the battery, so a worthwhile bit of investigation! |
