newbie needs help

Hi everyone!!

I have just done the deal on a new Freelander 2 XS. Down sized from a 2008 D3 SE.

My D3 had a few additions like D4 grille mod, D4 tail lights, side bars etc so my question is to you all is.........what do I do to this one?????

My first job is a tow bar. The dealer wanted almost a grand to fit one so its going to be a DIY job and suggestions would be good for best options, but what else should I do to it!

Regards

Kenny

Had a couple of FFRR but the running costs do my head in. Decided to retire early so been coming down the range. Don't like the evoque, I keep thinking someone has sat on the back of it and squashed it!!! Laughing

hi towbar is a diy job i believe it just bolts on and the electrics are plugs so you should not go wrong what i would do is get an independent tow bar company to fit so there is not any warranty issues if you get my drift manchester tow bars did mine all in for £210 quid i did not have mine programmed at the dealers if yours is auto it may be advisable to have this done as i believe that when you plug ur trailer in the auto box senses this and changes its operating mode Thumbs Up rainy-city

Do you need a Faultmate to do the change to the car or is there another option?

as far as i know he said that the pugs are at the end of the loom and the interface just plus in to this and you're away
phone a company called ge middleton up they do a good mail order service and technical back up0161 872 0923 or vist www.ge middleton look for city road address

if you are only wiring up the normal N socket you should not have any warranty issues but if you are wiring up the S socket just be mindful that if you have any alternator problems the dealer will probably try to blame it on who fitted the electrics i was offerd a genuine l/rover interface for £80.00 from the tow bar company Thumbs Up rainy-city
