dash colour fading

hi as i don't like using using dash cleaner chemical for cleaning the dash i have just cleaned with a damp cloth and clean water, but in this hot weather my dash seems to have a whitish bloom over it and a faded appearance has anybody else had this problem and i would like to know if it was rectified under warranty as my car is not two years old yet or would recommend a good dash cleaner not shiny type though Thumbs Up rainy-city

Yes , same issue.

Have not spoken to LR as car is five years old and not in warranty. I will have to look into something to make it look better but time is short at the moment. mole

Try This
I had the same problem, no matter what I tried and despite being less than 2 years old at the time, the dash looked pretty dire. Now it's back to looking like new. none of that shiny silicon c**p either! Thumbs Up

You get two choices with Autoglym, shiny or silk matt. To do shiny you spray/wipe it on, leave it to dry and then buff. For matt finish spray/wipe it on and then buff straight away. Like you I don't like "shiny". John

over the last week or so I have been amazed at the high temperature in the car while sitting all day in the sun.

I reckoned that due to the path of the sun and the position of the car on the driveway that most of the sun is coming in the front window so for the firt time ever I bought one of those roll up screen things that stops the sun coming in the windscreen when parked.

what a difference !!........wish I had bought one years ago, but always thought they were only needed in very hot countries.

now going to buy another for the IQ2 ( probably smaller version )

Did you purchase the screen online or from a shop, and if you don't mind me asking, how much?
