With the new 2012 you can't put the umbrella under the boot panel due to the boot tidy.

So me and the old man came up with this:





two old kitchen unit clips attached to the roller by self tappers.

It's solid as a rock and doesn't rattle at all !! 8)

I jam mine on top in-between the cover housing and the dog guard

But not guard, it's a great place, unless you have removed the cover and it rains unexpectedly

Mine is just put in the back of the boot and is free to roll around

I hate people who carry umbrellas in pedestrian areas, I always make sure I punch the umbrella if it comes near my face. What's wrong with a decent waterproof????

In the unlightly event of an accident, the 'smart clips' tighten the grip on the said brolly thus rendering the brolly both firm and safe.

Once the deceleration rate becomes reduced to a predetermined value, the ECU causes the grip on the brolly to become relaxed.
The said brolly flies forward between the passenger and driver and through the front screen. It's onboard guidance system ensures that the brolly pierces both the front screen and the drivers eye socket of the oncoming vehicle.
