After a recent cold spell, I began to wonder if my LR2 had a block heater. In Canada block heaters are quite common as temperatures can go under -30 degrees C for extended periods. Since LR2s come with a "cold weather package" in Canada I assumed I had one. I went out to look for the telltale block heater plug and there was nothing. There was also no mention of it in the owner's manual. So I called the dealer and they said that no such thing existed |

I suppose I should have mentioned that this is a petrol unit. Since petrol's the only option in North America I didn't think to mention it. |

Hey Saskboy, let me know how it starts tomorrow (if you dare press the button). The oil ought to be as thick as peanut butter at that temperature.

Not brave enough o try outside storage. Garage is heated so starting not an issue. Would be nice to hear from people from other colder climates about how they are making out. |

Sounds about right on fords you either have to pull the engine or dismantle a fender to replace a failed factory installed block heater.
