Having emailed the farm the other day offering cash in hand for usage of the circuit I got a response by email, here it is:

That's exactly what I'd have said to you if you'd have sent me an email out of the blue.

The Littlewoods' don't know you from Adam the local green lane yobbo. If you haven't got the courtesy to discuss your request face-to-face so that they can gauge your character then correspondingly they'll not give you the time-of-day. Net result - they send you a terse negative response.

The diplomatic personal approach I vouch would have produced a more favourable negotiated outcome.

To be honest Athelstan, not going around the track doesn't bother me and I wasn't prepared to travel out there to ask that. As right as you are, I am not bothered in the slightest by the response. If someone else wants to pay them a visit be my guest. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

not a very polite response from them, but then i don't know what you actually asked and how it was asked

then to respond with a simple "No" on their business email address inc, make me think i wouldn't want to stay there with due to her short reply.

A reply along the lines of "thanks, but the track is for private use or XYZ and we are not covered for what your enquiring" would be the more business like reply

But then each to their own

for a farmer 'no' is the long and considered answer. I wouldn't have even replied Laughing

replying confirms the presence of the track so invites phantom visits At work
