A DPF-Emulator box has been installed in order to prevent the ECU sending the engine into the limp mode. Nevertheless the orange 'check-engine' light goes regularly on since the ECU misses the DPF-electronics. The good thing is that since DPF-removal and fitting 'black-box' the car can be driven normaly without a single time going into 'reduced engine performance'.

No, I removed the DPF while living in Germany, half a year ago. Apart from replacing the DPF-part of the exhaust pipe, I bought a gadget produced by an Italian company that was installed with a view to preventing the car going into reduced engine performance. Although the 'check-engine' signal flares up regularly, now I can drive the car how I like it not fearing being stranded in the city wiht a car, which was supposed to 'cross the continents'

Some folks maintain that this is a common problem but judging from the scale of this problem for FL2 I personally think that this is due to poor development work by JLR..
