United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Stornoway Grey
Gap round wiper motor shaft

Hi guys, Anybody else had this problem -- see gallery.

It all started when I picked the freelander up from the dealer, the escutcheon popped out of the windsreen channel on the way home only did 60 miles Big Cry Anyway took it to my local dealer who pushed it back home into the channel on the windscreen only to find there was a gap round the wiper motor shaft.

Back to dealer who said it was not a problem and that any water going past the shaft will drain away!

Contacted Land Rover Customer Services who suggested I took it to another dealer for a second opinion.

To cut a long story short New plastic escutcheon fitted containing the wiper shaft seals and guess what --- it popped out of the windscreen channel again. It now has been pushed fully back home and as before has left a gap round the shaft again.

Back to customer services again who no doubt will offer there advice. I changed from a Kia Sorento to the FR2 hoping that the quality control was now better!!

Any body guess what the problem is ? or should I just accept what two local dealers have said "that there is not a problem with water going past the seal.
