Recall

Just had Land Rover main dealer pick up my Freelander for its 12000 service (second service as its 2 years old)

Apparantly there has been 2 recalls in the last year, presuming any other recalls were done in the first year prior and up to my ownership.

I hope someone is able to tell me what these recalls are for as the driver who picked up my car didn't know.

I have had my FR2 for the last 4 years and have not had a recall in the last 2. I remember one to replace something in the heater that could cause a fire but that was at the start of my ownership. Watching this thread with interest.

The recall is not for older freelanders, from what I can gather its for those built late 2009 up to the new facelift. possibly those with the new engine. i didn't get a recall notice so its an "inhouse" type of recall

Mines a 2010 and I know they have done a few jobs on mine, sort of recalls but not, its jobs they need to do or check the next time its in at the dealer type. one was checking the roll pin was fitted correctly on the gear linkage, due to some parting company in use and loss of gear selection. so not classed as a recall more an essential check but it can wait until it goes to the dealer for something, like a service.
I think they like to avoid recalls as it means all possibly affected vehicles must be called in straight the way specially for the check, which will cost them a fortune,

UK recalls can be found on the VOSA website.

Thanks for the link

Unfortunately VOSA like other recall notices providers are only posted when a car is specially called in not for "in house" recalls.
