United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Stornoway Grey

First saw this report some time ago. I'm hoping that this was a pre-production vehicle and that the result of this failure will have been fed back to the production line.

I think I'm right in saying that production vehicles first left the line in the last few days of October, which is after the article was written. I've got my fingers crossed for this being the most trouble free model yet ... well you have to optimistic when you've ordered one !!!!

The article does finish off by saying that there has been a flurry of activity at LR to sort the issue out... so fingers crossed Smile

Since the test in Yorkshire a couple of weeks ago when we overcooked the demonstrator, there has been a flurry of activity behind the scenes at Land Rover to fix the problem. Blame is being laid on glitches in manufacturing after the transfer of Freelander production from Solihull in the West Midlands to Halewood, Merseyside,

Don't know where he got that little bit of bad press from. Freelander 2 has never been anywhere near Solihull !!

It's all the Scouser's fault Laughing

In reality from a Land Rover point of veiw the car was designed in Gaydon (near Banbury), with additional engineering support from Whitley (Coventry) and is only assembled at Halewood. Although it is based on a Ford/Volvo platform (New Ford galaxy, S & C Max and new Mondeo (not on sale yet) and the Volvo S/C60 & 80)
