Hi

I am heading fast to my 1st Service on my SD4 and wondered if anyone has used this garage? Their literature claims they are "landrover approved repairer."

Is that different from servicing? Am I wrong in understanding that EU law changed not long ago to allow us to get our cars services at manufacturer approved (non-dealership) garages without adversely affecting our warranties?

Can anyone shed any light on this as I will need to start obtaining quotes soon. Service due early December.

You are right as long as the parts used are LR approved but, dealers will make it awkward for you if the servicing does not show up on their system.
If you had a warranty problem they will not fight your corner, although wrong they will not be sympathetic to you. Also LR would probably not meet you half way with costs for anything, in fact they will treat you like a Leper (all unofficially of course).

I don't know about them, but I can recommend lookers land rover in Colchester, they have been excellent over the last 18 months, always haggle though.

I used Taylors for my 1st. service in April this year. They are shown as an approved service centre on the Land Rover web site. They carried out 2 recalls at the same time and I was pleased with their customer care. They were also cheaper than the local main dealers.

Thanks all. I will definitely consider Taylors for the future and another place recoomended to me , but for now I may well play off the Lookers garages against each other on service price.

I have had two occasions already where things have had to be fixed under warranty (replacement steering rack and new key) so I am concerned that something else could go wrong and then Lookers would be less helpful.... What do I know....I'm only an Essex girl
