United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Narvik Black
S owners - Important you read this !

Hi All,

If you are an S owner running 215/75/16 tyres, you need to be aware that there is a serious supply issue on this size.

I have run my S as a company car for the last 4 years with no problems at all until dropping into Kwik Fit last week to get some new boots on order. This is where the problems started !

Kwik Fit says no tyres will be available until February next year !
My local LR dealer also cannot source this size of boot.
Lex Autolease finally found the 2 I need from a different supplier as part of a cancelled order. I only have the car for another 2 months so this will tide me over ( no punctures please ) but the situation is an absolute farce.

Thought I should be public spirited and phoned LR customer relations. The response I got was similar to that of an alien with two heads !

My recommendation is if you need tyres over winter try and source them now, even if you store them in the shed until you need them....

Happy motoring,

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Baltic Blue

There was a similar situation last year, when I needed some new tyres in this size, with everyone telling me they were on back order, and unavailable on line.

In the end, it worked out in my favour when I asked the dealers if they had any sets of 16" alloys that people had upgraded from, that we could take the tyres off. In the end, they sold me the tyres at £80 each + VAT (for Conti's), but said that they couldn't be bothered to remove from the rims!!! As I have gradually worked through the set of 4, I have ended up with a spare set of rims, and have just put on a set of Hankook Dynapro's AT for the worst of the winter/off road use.

It is mad though that we can end up in a situation like this. FL2 TD4 S Baltic Blue, with twin electrics and towbar, roofrails, luggage cover, spare wheel and mudflaps.

Same situation at Camskill too....

Mind you, the stock there is very low for 235/65 R17 too.

New regs came in for tyre sizes above 215 last month. There may not be stocks of the new ones yet. See http://www.blackcircles.com/general/tyre-noise-regulations
