Off Side = The Drivers Side of the Car, often shorten to O/S.

Near Side = The Passenger Side of the Car, often shorten to N/S.

An easy way to remember is Near Side is nearest the kerb, hence, Near Side. FL2, TD4 HSE

Agree with Redlabel, I always remember it as near side, nearest the kerb/pavement irrespective of whether its left hand or right hand drive. Nearside can become the drivers side if driving a left hand drive car in this country Confused
I tend to favour the Dark Side, its much simpler Twisted Evil

Redlabel,

I have LLR026342 (with seal) fitted to both front wheel arches. It just pushes on and the seal squashes into place.
LLR001624 & LLR005165 were the same as the old parts coming off. I'm not bothering to seal the edges as the original set lasted for just over 4 years.

I was unfortunate to have a slight argument with a large fence in the office car park which entailed a trip to the local body shop which is run by a guy who has been a LR nut for 30 years and mentioned this problem to him.
He says this trim comes adrift on all Land/Range Rovers.

His advice "throw them all away and power wash under the wheel archs on a regular basis.

Throwing away the arch protectors and power washing regularly will not prevent stone chips and resultant corrosion. I prefer to try to keep them covered to protect the arch paint from stone chips. This is a nightmare in my area as the local authority is obsessed with re-stoning all local lanes. This cracked two windsscreens on my previous Jag.
My Volvo is 15 years old and has substantial protectors as an extension to the arch protector - seems like a more sensible design. I am beginning to think my old Volvo will outlive my Freelander2 despite being 11 years older! All vulnerable areas are protected with covers or thick transparent film. I wonder if the XC90 is built to the same quality as my old 850? - 2007(57) XS Auto, Rimini Red, Alpaca Leather.
- GCS Hawke - Sports, BRG, Vulcan 2.1 inj'. My toy - built it myself in 2001.
