AIR CON PROBLEMS WITH AUDIO

Has anyone got this problem.

Im listening to my stereo while driving along at normal speed and its fine. When i put the air con on after a while the left rear speaker starts to crackle when teh music is being played. For some reaosn i seem to be getting annnoying interference out of the left rear speaker when i put the air con on, whether it is hot or cold. It doesnt affect any other speaker, just this one. I took it back to Stratstone Coventry to have a look at it and it looks all fine apparently and is all hooked up and it does work, only when the air con is switched off. Does anyone have any idea?[/b]

Can't see this having anything to do with air conn. The additional electrical load when this is switched on is the compressor clutch solenoid (very low current) and the cooling fans (high current). Due to the increased load, the only noise you should hear, if any, is the alternator 'whine' due to increased ac voltage ripple every 120 degrees of alternator rotation. In any case most of this is inaudable on FL2. If you could hear it, it would be heard through all the speakers as a whine, not a 'crackle'.

Take it back to the dealers. I suspect a faulty cone.
Have you been blasting at full volume? Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Just had a call from the Lancaster Land Rover Welwyn.

They have found the problem with the audio interference.

They say the rear window heater element is not making contact properly and this is what is giving the interference nothing to do with the air-con unit sorry.
All to do with the window heater program.
Hit the window program switch and the radio crackles.....

New rear screen on overnight order will be fitted in the morning…. Great service again by dealer Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

.
