Anyone know how to remove the internal vents? Had my car valeted any the nob jockeys hit the adjusting slider off. And I think the only way to replace it is to remove the front vertical vents.

the same happened to me. I improvised. Using standard electrical wire ( lighting / ring main 2.5mm works best ) I cut a length approx 8" long with a bend / loop at one. Stuck the silver slider to it with blue tack, pushed in in between the slats and pulled it back in place. Simple. took 10 minutes thinking, and 2 minutes to resolve

Just the other day I saw one guy who'd kept trying to assemble something and, in the process, irritated, told me one phrase that I belive it will remain an anthological one in my mind... He means stick the silver fin in the loop of the wire secured with blu tack,its that blue plastacine type stuff you stick posters on walls with etc.
