System checks when driving

Hi, I have a problem that I couldn't see elsewhere but please point me in the right direction if I've missed it.

The battery on my 2007 FL2 was completely flat the other morning for no apparent reason (that bits not very unusual I know) so I jump started it and the car is running fine bar two problems. When I start the systems check runs as normal and every thing is OK, after about 15 minutes or so of driving the dashboard lights all go on, the needles all drop to zero, and the systems check happens, all lights then go out, the instruments read as normal and the trip and other information is unchanged. After another 15 minutes or so the same thing will happen again and again. The car drives quite normally through this.

The second problem is that the PDC doesn't work. When I start up there is a long tone and the system does not activate when I engage reverse.

I've driven a reasonable distance since the battery was flat so I would expect it to be charged up again but maybe not? The other thing may be that the electronics need reset in some way, if so does anyone have any ideas? Alternatively I may be completely wrong!

Grateful for any thoughts!

Cheers,
Edward

As documented elsewhere on here just chargin a flat battery from a bump start wont get it up to full charge - especially if it needs conditioning or is getting a bit long in thr tooth. I would suggest before doing anything drastic to disconnect your battery - trickle charge it over night and see what happens? Failing that - got to halfords and get a new battery Wink Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints
