2010 Freelander 2 TD4 Sport Manual Lago Grey
Screen Jet Problems

Hi All

A couple of problems have popped up on our MY10 Sport Screen jets

First the two bonnet jets have suffered what looks to be corrosion - each of them has one, yes just one of the two brass nozzels covered in green as though theyve been attacked by the screen jet mixture.

Then - just this week, the front and rear screen jets refused to work. Interestingly the pump can be heard to be running, and the headlamp washers work, so I'm guessing there's a block in the feed pipe that delivers fluid to the screen jets?

So - my plan is to
1) get a schematic of the system - showing where the tube connections and branches are
2) Replace the bonnet mounted jets
3) Replace the screen jet bottle top filter

Any advice or suggestions?
Anyone know where I can find a schematic and part numbers?

1) warranty???
2) possible cause is hard water, build up of limescale. Had it on mine, now I use Di-ionized water

Have you tried sticking a fine needle into the jet holes to clear them?

Landy is on the right track but it is soft water with a low pH (slightly acidic) that causes the green copper corrosion (hard water will be white limescale, high pH and slightly alkaline), as he says use distilled or pH balanced water after removing it.
