Sorry another question about the towing electrics

My parking sensors are now not working.
I have a detachable tow bracket, when the garage programmed the electrics they selected the "With Tow Bar" option, as I have a detachable tow bracket should they have selected the "Without Tow Bar" option so my parking sensors will work again when not towing.

As far as I understand it - the ecu only disables the sensors when it detects the electrics are plugged into a caravan, trailer or whatever.

If nothing is plugged in then it should all be as normal. 2002 Honda VFR800

As SimonT has said, the plugging in of the electric plug from a trailer or light board will then tell your vehicle that so it would then disable the rear sensors, rear fogs and make the trailer indicator warning light flash. So they should have ticked the "With Towbar" box. Doing this will also allow your rear sensors to act as normal when nothing is plugged in to the light socket.

That is as I understood it, but I am wondering what would happen if you had a fixed tow bracket, would the sensors pick up the tow ball all the time in which case the the sensors would have to be turned off, is that what the garage has done, and the "With tow bar" should realy mean "With fixed tow bar"?

Mine doesn't detect the ball in reverse and I haven't heard of any ones sensors detecting the ball in reverse on a FL2.

I paid extra for an installer to buy the ECU connector, but it still beeps in reverse when I have a trailer connected and there's no indicator on the dash. Do I have to get a dealer to set something or is it something I can do myself?

Sounds like you need the dealer to program the ECU to know it has towbar electrics fitted. Then the magic happens Thumbs Up 2002 Honda VFR800

Thanks Simont. I might just send the dealer an e-mail as they are at least 3 hours away.
