2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Santorini Black
Gear selection indicator not working

In the handbook, it says it should show what gear you are in on the dash, but it doesn't Confused Any ideas of how to make it work? Or maybe it doesn't on my model.

It shows only in manual mode.
Shift it into sport and then up/down for changing gears.
As soon as you make the first shift, they will start to show on the dash.

Cheers for quick replies Thumbs Up Mine is a manual not auto, so it's only active on an auto gearbox and then when you place it in sport mode.

All you get on the manual is a green arrow illuminated for a short period to let you know it's within the most economical range to change up. You have to take it with a pinch of salt though, as it depends on your prevailing circumstances.

Wing, where is the green light? Not that I would be looking all the time for it, just want to know where it is if I see it come on out of the corner of my eye and wonder what it is. Thumbs Up

There's a little round green light round by the rev counter. You learn to ignore it, like the stop/start - does it at all strange times of the day and night,. That said, you do notice it stopped when trying to hoof it from a minor road onto a dual carriageway!
