Test Drives ...

Anyone got a test drive booked? I understand there are some factory cars going around the country giving pre-launch test drives by appointment. My local dealer claims to know nothing about them ... which is frustrating.

There were only two vehicles, silver and grey, but it was dark and under artificial light, so not the best conditions for looking at colour. And to be honest I was so taken in by the drive I wasn't looking too closely at colours anyway (that 2.2 is a nice motor - and once its loosened up ... well!). I'll be going back during daylight hours for another 'peep' and get a better idea of colour, I'll probably be quite boring an go for silver, although because I'm up against deadlines from our fleet department I might not get a full choice.

The car did have leather seats, which I was not too keen on, but thats because I don't like leather in cars anyway. I've read a comment, in one of the many test reports, about the length of the seat base being a bit short and must admit I did notice that.

Thanks Avtur
If you see either Stornoway Grey or Izmir Blue I will be interested in what you think of the colours (I have not seen in the flesh)

You are the second one to say they didnt like Izma Blue, still not seen it, looks like the Stornaway Grey will be my choice with black interior, it appears to suit the car and should be a good resalable car

To be fair it was 'ej' who made the comment about Izmir blue' but I will feedback as soon as I see the colours in daylight.

Just received the lease prices from our company fleet office. Decision for me is between GS and XS, so comparing the two specs with each other and with my present car (Mazda 6 diesel estate - a brilliant car by the way!)

One feature I noticed on the test drive and which I hadn't seen mentioned in any reports is that the door mirrors auto adjust (down and in) when you select reverse. When reversing I almost always adjust the door mirrors in this way so this automated feature is a welcome bonus.

Talking to our fleet office today I was told they've never seen so much interest in a new model, they have more advanced orders for this car than anything previously.

HI David,

I have not seen anything in the flesh but my dealer has and when I ordered my HSE he strongly lobbied for the Stornoway Grey or the silver based on the black window uprights, mirror colours, grill etc. He said the Nazca Sand did not look good at all with the rest of the trim and thought the silver and grey were the best options. He also thought tambora flame looked OK but would not have the longevity of a more conservative colour. In the end i chose the Stornoway Grey...maybe becasue i am a fan of the isle of lewis??
