Well either it packed up or he just got fed up with looking at the same one?

Many things can go on an alternator, and the whole unit does not always need replacing you bumbling idiots

yes you are correct landy19840, but you must admit it was a witty reply from Mona Geeza and did make me smile somewhat.

114,000 miles

split turbo pipe made a noise like you dont want to hear!

Blue charge wire off the alternator split and put battery light on the dash

New rear discs, pads etc

Not heard other Freel2s but it sounds quite noisey when first fired up.

Apart from that all is fine...

The Benefit in Kind is so much lower.

How come? The CO2 ratings would normally put it in the 35% bracket. Is it the "van" version that you're going for?

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Manual Tambora Flame

122000 miles and still going strong, no faults or repairs in the last 18 months of ownership, it still looks like new inside and the leather is holding up nicely. I passed it on to the wife 6 weeks ago as it was getting too old to claim it on company car allowance.
I bought a 2011 Insignia and I hate it with a passion, I actually love it when we go anywhere at the weekend and the wife says you can drive MY car Sad

2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Nazca Sand

98000+ miles now, had a clutch/flywheel/slave fitted recently and rear diff bearing done some time ago. Other than that it's been first class, still can't quite understand how the pads and tyres last for such a heavy lump. All in all a very reliable car for me and still a great drive, long may it continue Thumbs Up

203,000 kms indicated
Would actually be more due to the 7% error in the speedo reading
No rattles and squeeks and it hasnt been treated too well
Plenty offroad and dirt roads with corrugations

123,000 miles now.........just had gearbox issue sorted, which meant a new transfer box was needed and low and behold the DMF/clutch was not looking it's best. All because of a sheared gearbox mount/bolt Confused

I have to say it drives lovely now, very smooth and for some reason the fuel economy has improved noticeably, I was about to PX it but after spending what I have to sort everything out have decided to keep running it.

The engine itself sounds/feels very healthy.
