What Tyres?

What type of tyres were fitted to your FL2 at new? Mine has the Michelin Latitude. According to the advertising blurb they should last 35% longer than the competition. Let's hope so!

emmmm

Strange that ... my TD4 SE Auto came with Continental 4x4 Contacts 235/56/17. I don't recall being given any choice in tyres, so I wonder who decides what you get, and why?! Surprised

(My old Disco always had Wranglers which seemed fine to me) Smile

Wranglers on mine

On my last car I had some Mitchelins put on said they would last 35% longer, I just thoughbt the tread was a lot deeper than the continentals that were on I guess thats where the extra mileage came from.

I personal try to keep away from Mitchelins (unless they are on offer a Costco's) Went through 5 £150 tyres on my old Vectra Sri in a 10 months, 1 Blow out at 100mph in France, 3 Nails that were un repairable and one went when I was forced to mount a pavment avoiding a truck coming the other way which was avoiding a person walking on a pavement.

They are just bad look to me, Come to think of it my Kia Sportage was written off just after getting a set of them put on too.

Evil or Very Mad Mitchelin Evil or Very Mad

My HSE manula had Continental Contacts and the replacememt HSE auto has Goodyear Wranglers.

Always been impressed with Continental tyres had peugeot 306 for some years (long story - cheap hire agreement) but they handled like on rails, incredible..........last ever one we had was shod in Mitchelin 'energy' tyres.........totally different car felt like it was on ice, no stability, cornering very wooly, and you just did not feel in contact with the road, in my opinion they felt dangerous....not that avtur would have noticed...sorry fella Thumbs Up

Would never have Mitchelin again................. Evil or Very Mad

My GS TD4 has Goodyears on I took it for it's 15000 service yesterday and was loaned an XSTD4 with the same tyre size as mine but with Michellins on It felt as if on ice I checked the pressures and they were Ok. If the car I took for a test drive had had Michellin tyres on and drove like that I may not have bought one!! Took the car to Guy Samuels Wakefield and got excellent service .

After the Kia have a 8 month repair after a motorbike bounced off the dashboard when it was less than two months old, I never like the car after that, something about a car that has been fix. Then the wife finished off in march this year by parking it on the road out side the house.

I think the van driver and the wife are the ones that did me a favor......... Not that type of favor Carlfraz Laughing

Funny how times change.

As a young lad in the late 1970's Michelin X used to be the tyre of choice. Always wanted them fitted to my Mini 1275GT then Escort 1300E etc...
