Convince me I dont really want to swap for a Disco 4!

I am very tempted, it would have to be the HSE though.

Cost
Will it fit in your garage
Dire fuel economy
Increased insurance cost
Harder to park
More costly to service

On the flip side I could live with the looks for the amount of car and capability you get for the money...not as cool as a Disco 3 though Whistle Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

That depends on what you've got at the moment.....

D4, Hmmm, nice to drive, more powerfull than a D3, economy close to the FL2 depending on how its driven..

It's growing on me but I prefer the D3 at the moment Thumbs Up ______________________

Its a womans car, designed to fit loads of kids for the school run, then loads of shopping bags for the morrisons/retail therapy run. real men drive the fl2.
Trust me the road at our farm lane end is a major school route loads of D3/4's all women drivers.

Dave chose a D3 because the seats lift him a little higher /compensating for his lack of height At work

HSE Disco4 with all options came out at £58,545

Way more than ied spend on a car,

A nicely spec'ed FL2 HSE to base spec D4 doesn't work in my head, I've never compared what you get to what I've got, but going leather electric to manual cloth seats is barmy when your looking at how much you pay for a base model Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

May I try and correct CG's comment about the women drivers??

I think that the bloke of the household realises that it's an amazing car, goes out and buy's or persuades his employer that he really has to have it as a car, then his missus who bitched and moaned about it being too big and expensive realises it's amazing and that another mother has one on the school run, and not o be outdone steals it. So the poor bloke is left with her crummy 1992 fiesta.

Get one in the right colour though and don't drive like a girl and they're not womens cars Thumbs Up

hmmm. I never really expected a definitive answer. I have an HSE FL2 so wouldnt want anything less than an HSE or certainly XS disco.

As most of you say, its a very expensive car but I just love the 4. I never liked the 3 but I think the cosmetic changes alone make it such a better car than the previous. I love the lights, grill etc and the interior is amazing.

Im going to have a test drive and take it from there I think. Hopefully may find a 6 month old LR direct car. I saved 13k on the freel on a 6 month old car with 4k on the clock.

Thanks to all of you

The Fun Prevention Officer is just onto her second F2 - the latest one is, admittedly, a GS with leather seats which makes it feel very nice indeed and I have a D4 Commercial.

There is a sense of making rapid progress in the D4 that is somehow missing in the F2.

As another option... take a look at the F2 with 190BHP and the autobox... it's close but still doesn't have the reserves of power that you get with the D4.

Enjoy the test drive(s)!
