They will probably be called a Range Rover LRX, 35 grandish start price? in about a year? will look best in black Thumbs Up

From what I have been told the pricing will be based on the well off parents who want to buy their son/daughter a brand new car but can't justify the £30K for a good spec FL2.By doing this LR will be filling a gap in their market where certain drivers will buy other brands = clever thinking as obviously in the past the company has had the car deriratives to offer as a substitute - i.e Rover 800/75 etc.

From this conversation I would guess that they will be sub £20K (Past) Freelander 2 HSE 2010 MY In Rimini Red.
(Past) RR Evoque Dynamic Lux Si4 In Firenze Red.
(Past) RR Evouque Pure Tech in Barollo Black with bespoke Firenze Red colour coding.
(Present) Freelander Metropolis 2015 MY In Santorini Black with Ivory Premium Leather.

LR have an inability to make vehicles sor the sub £20K market, even a poverty spec FL2 is £20K starting!! I appear to be addicted to Landrovers...

TD5 D-Lander hopefully finished soon!
FL2....this year with any luck!

It's gonna be sweeeet, and it's gonna sell millions.
My 'educated' guesses, barring cataclysmic events:
Launch, I'm guessing Geneva Auto 2011 (early March).
Entry level around £29K, full spec £38K.
Will be the most economical LR ever (with diesel variant).
Called a Range Rover Compact.
Similar to an FL2 transmission wise - TR, no low box
I think it's more aimed at staying on the road so I suspect it's off-road capabilities might be slightly less than the FL2 since the ride height will probably be slightly lower. Hence, no serious O/R toys like diff lock, low box, air suspension.
Load space will be smaller than FL2 due to the 'fastback'.
Any photos you see without door handles is the concept car. Real one will have handles.
Only available in black...... just kidding.
3 and 5 door models.
Will secure Land Rover's future for years to come.
Hopefully will convince BMW to stop making abominations of 4WD vehicles.

high hopes Smile or it maybe a pile of overpriced Censored . lets see I hope you are correct Thumbs Up

I do think it will be £30,000 ish + rather than £20,000 ish. as I think it will be hi-spec at launch with a cheaper basic model arriving after a year or so. At work

i think they will be more expensive than people think, silly money will change hands for a select few owners to have them first on their driveways, next to their RR$, D4 H$E or FFRR Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

You're probably very close with everything you said in your post - except the name. "COMPACT" - never ever.

-o-

Just like the press speculation of "VENTURA" for the next Freelander. (Unless Vauxhall/GM have released their rights to that name held since the 60's)

I'm inclined to agree, and I suspect premiums will be paid by the Knightsbridge & Chelsea kids to be first on the block.
