Can't go wrong with Michelin!

The car we've just ordered has Michelin Pilot Sport EV tyres fitted. The manufacturer made a good choice for the vehicle I think. 2009 Rimini Red SE TD4. Soon to be sold.
Hyundai Ioniq 5 Ultimate on order.
Gone. 2006 Tonga Green i6 HSE.

Ive been running Nokian Weatherproof. Rather OTT as we've had only minimal snow here in North Warwickshire for years. They might make 30K miles but I doubt it, as they are looking a bit tatty at 26K miles - a lot of fine surface cracks. I won't be buying them again as I think they dont suit our warming climate.
They used to be made in Finland but mine were made over the border in Putinland. Jules

Forget off roading, my wife has an evoque (im the fl2 owner) and its ten year old verde all season are end of life!!
So i started to think, on English roads are all season tyres that much better?, id imagine that 90% of all cars on the road use summer tyres.
Then my thoughts wandered to do tyres improve? the verdes are still i believe current fit on lr vehicles, would not a ten year newer dsign like the crossclimate 2 be better?
Oh and one last question, why a 107 xl rating on an evoque?, seems a bit ott

my choices are down to a new set of verdes , crossclimate 2 suv or pilot sport4 suv (summer rated)

god tyres are such an expensive nightmare

MICHELIN CROSS CLIMATE SUV2
Full grip etc down to 2 mm tread depth……..Michelins words, not mine

without a shadow of a doubt

Pays to shop around. I got a good deal from tyre-shopper.co.uk last year.

Also saved £400 on the Fiesta's tyres by buying a slightly wider version of the same tyre. The OEM size is given a premium price. Insurance went up only £20.
Not sure if that would work on the FL2 though. Jules

Ditto! we use comfessor cf 1100 tyres allyear round on two freelanders, use both in the fields occasionally, copy of general grabber tread, half the price. As someone previously mentioned on here, all the time people buy expensive tyres the price will stay high.Funny how when tyre sales drop off for major brands they can give massive discounts.

Tyre manufacturers do deals with car makers to have their tyres as OEM, knowing that most customers stick with the same tyres (until the vehicle is old) and continue to pay high prices even when there are perfectly good cheaper alternatives. Jules

Sid, would you know what sort of mileage you'll get out of these, I've AT3's on at the moment with 45 thousand on them and will probably need a change soon, probably around the 50 thousand mark.

To me tyre choice is more important than just price and maximum wear.

The four relatively small contact patches to the road are all that keeps you safe.

I believe that the UK's Moderate but Wet Climate is ideal for All Season Tyres, and have a good look at the different tyre reviews and gradings (especially wet grip/braking).

I found that this Which? Magazine article was handy to start to understand what was on offer.

Agreed - I always go for A star wetgrip and braking in my on-line searches. Jules

I chose Pirelli Scorpion Zero All Season (Volvo Spec) as for some reason (I know not why) they had a better Wet Grip (A) than JLR Spec.

4 year old Pirelli Scorpion Zero developed cracks in the channels between tread blocks and went hard. I replaced them with Michelin Crossclimate2. Now so much better.

Not had them on long enough to say,as we are both low mileage use,but we are happy with them so far.
