My auxiliary belt slips when its raining or gets splashed with water would a failing tensioner cause this as its only covered 41,000 miles the belt looks quite new as the part numbers are still visible. |

Under normal circumstances the inner wing splash guards and undertray should keep water away from the belts and the bottom of the engine. Are they all in good condition and fitted properly? If they are then unless you are deep wading or driving too fast through deep puddles the belts should never get wet enough to slip. |

My auxiliary belt seams to only start to slip when its raining when the engine is cold. Driving home from work at 8:00 pm tonight I pulled in to pass a car in a rural lane to hear a squeak then it starting to shriek with the throttle which stopped when moving again. |

Years ago belts often squealed and if tension checked out OK a quick flash while running with WD40 cleared it.

WD40 won’t do anything other than quieten the noise - it will still slip. In work, if I have a squeaky belt, I just give it a squirt of belt grip. Off the top of my head, I can’t remember the make of it but it’s this type of prodict.

Belt dressing (or anything else for that matter) is not recommended on modern serpentine belts.

I think you will find the heated windscreen and memory seats (therefore dipping mirrors) are extras.
