United Kingdom 2014 Freelander 2 TD4 Metropolis LE Auto Santorini Black

There is supposed to be a secret menu on the sat nav but from what i understand about it you can stuff the sat nav completely by using it.
I found the best way to tell what maps are on the disc is to put the disc into your computer and read the txt file. That file should tell you the year of the maps.
Hope this helps

Thanks Dick E,

Yes I knew about the text file and have checked the disc, it states that it is version 2016 issue 1.

I just wanted to see if that can be confirmed on the unit in the car with the disc loaded in the DVD player?

I remember accessing the hidden menu in the past, but unfortunately I cannot remember how I got into it! Can anyone remind me?

Thanks

I think the hidden menu option may help you.

Check the disk version using the hidden menu. I've seen dad's where the text file says one thing but all other files on the disk several years older. Checked using hidden menu which confirmed disk as old as file dates NOT the date in the text file

I've just updated (I think) to the 2015-6 maps.

However when I inserted the new disc I got a message on-screen saying that software needed to be updated (it quoted new and old versions, I can't remember the numbers but the existing was 4 digits and I think the new had A as it second character the other 3 were digits?). It gave me the option to remove the disc to cancel the upgrade. I did this and reinserted the original disc. The screen then froze and after consulting the disc supplier I reinserted the new disc and let it continue unassisted.

After about 20 minutes the screen unfroze and I had satnav back in operation with the new disc still inserted so I'm assuming that its using the 2015-6 maps.

Is there a way to tell that this is the case from the satnav system in the car?

See if it finds Lewis road Hawkinge Kent ct18 7se

My 008 disc can't , I'm waiting for the "2016" disc to arrive to find out if that can

Well I just got the "upgrade" Disc, I put it in the DVD and nothing seemed to happen, according to the instructions it was going to take up to 55 mins to upgrade, the headset set went right on reading the maps, so far I cant tell if the maps were upgraded.

It did find Lewis road, I realised that I have to drive down it to see if the map shows it.

I did pass under a new bit of road near Hastings and it did not show on the map, I have emailed the vendor to find out if I can check that I now have latest maps or if the old map is still in memory.

When I put mine in it said this is an upgrade, the screen was white with two blue buttons, press button to upgrade. After about 15 mins screen went black for a few seconds, then came back to normal main menu. The system had upgraded because I now have the 'cancel' guidance on the top level screen. Why they originally thought it was a good idea to bury this down through mainy menu levels beats me.
Won't know on the maps until I go down some newer roads. 09 FL2 HSE auto Lago Grey

You can find any road anywhere by moving the screen to where the road should be in the non navigation mode. Find location by Map brings up arrows for direction. zoom out, until you are over the area then zoom in. my PC is slightly to the right of Genghis
