Not on mine, when I start in a morning, the signature strip lights come on, the DRL lights only illuminate when I select D

Must have been an extra feature like your interior trim Grand Black Lacquer/Dark Chestnut Maybe the later cars had DRL's set to come on with ignition  MY14 Kahn Converted Dynamic - Fuji White Ebony/Pimento Interior

Them alloys were unique to the dynamic only and JLR would not let anyone pay to upgrade to them if buying a new Freelander! I've got them on mine and they do look nice.

Just had a look at the operation of the DRL ...

Car in D or N ... turn on ignition and I get the Signature strip only
Start engine and still just the Sig strip
Select either D or R and the DRL illuminates, this stays on even when P or N is selected

The DRL/signature lights dim at the side you are using the indicator
(it is on my MY2014)

DRL just extinguishes when indicator is in operation. Neither signature or DRL dim. MY15
