United Kingdom 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Santorini Black
Icarsoft-TF930 Freelander 2 Diagnostic code reader scanner

Recently bought (get it Monday) a 2011 GS Auto and would like to look at setting up door mirrors so that they dip when reversing along with other bits and pieces.
Saw this on EBay for around 100.00, anyone know if they're any good?

Thanks

I don't know anything about the code reader, but only cars with memory seats will dip the mirrors when reversing so unless your GS somehow has memory seats as an option you won't be able to do this.

Thanks for the info pab, I figured that the code would still be there but probably not enabled - can't see them writing completely different software?

It's more than software - the hardware is different and AIUI the dipping function is tied in with the memory seat controller.

You may be right, the Freelander 2 has multiple ECU's doesn't it, it may be that the one that controls electrci seat and mirrors isn't present? Although my past experience with the Automotive Industry leads me to think that they'd still fit it but just not use it.
Anyhow, just looking for a tool that will let me get into the diagnostics so I can tinker Very Happy

Hi NP, I have an old OBDII reader that just shows fault codes, but what I need is something (s/w on a PC or a dedicated tool) that let's me get access to the configuration menu - same as the dealers.

Hi found this link, looks like a fairly comprehensive review from someone that actually bought the unit

Hi Cambo, thanks for letting me know that - bit too late to cancel but never mind, I'm sure that it'll come in useful.

What I really need is something for the laptop that enables me to display and modify - any ideas?

Steer clear of anything cheap from Chinese suppliers. More trouble than they are worth.

Diagnostics

Hi,

You can't go far without this sort of kit...not cheap but will pay for itself after a few uses.
