Another Retro Sat Nav

I have finally finished my sat nav install.

Much the same as what funsmart had done a few months back. Very pleased with the maps and routing.

All from eBay, cost about £300 quid all in.

Kenwood kna 520,

Kenwood LZ 760R screen.

Looks great, and has some features that I'm sure many of us would have liked to have seen on the factory satnav!!!

Thumbs Up

Seem to remmember that there was said that with another satnav wired in the dashboard the parking sensors might not work properly. Any problem?
I understand that you took of the dashboard and wired the satnav in.

Very Happy Thanks,

No Sensor problems as I only wired in to Positive and negative. I left the speed sensor, reverse, and park brake wires off as I did not want to mess with the Canbus and so on.

Seen on another post that the screen was glued on. So how did you fixed it? glued or did you use some sort of brakets?
Can you take it out sort of easily if you want to install new updates for the maps? FREELANDER 2 TD4 SE (XS UK) IZMIR BLUE SIDE STEPS COLD PACK BI-XENON TINTED WINDOWS - AND PROUD OF HER

Updates are done via an SD card slot on the Kenwood 520 unit under the front seat.

I also got the hot glue gun out. Brackets would be better but as usual I went for the easy option.

Excelent job JT..
Where did you route the wires from the nav screen, to the navigation system under the seat?
Also, did connect it to the car speakers?

The screen loom simply went down behind the radio then followed the heater duct pipe which comes up under the seat.

Sound is from the screens onboard speaker.
