New member with a question....

Hi, I've just ordered an XS and am planning ahead and could do with some advice. I know this question has previously been asked in various ways and I couldnt find where it started so please accept my appologies for starting a new topic...

I want to be able to carry a Kayak or other long items - what do I need? As far as I can tell I don't have to have the LR roofrails and crossbars as there are various other sytems I can use i.e. Thule. If I dont fit the LR system do the other ones just fit to the same mounting points and can they be installed and removed without leaving holes?

What is the current feeling on the best sytem to go for in terms of asthetics, durability and price?

If anyone is interested in a pair of Renault bars from a 2006 Laguna estate please get in touch!

Cheers

Tim

Welcome to the forum

If you want to go for LR roof rails and crossbars it is alot more expensive than the Thule roofbars

You could go for the LR roofrails and thule crossbars

or a complete Thule setup which wouldn't mean any holes been drilled, these give you the option to completely remove them and at just over £120 alot cheaper

i got the Thule roof bars as i could justify the extra £300+ for once or twice a year i would use them.

Though if i had that sort of spare cash i would have gone down the LR root as i thing the rails finish the car off.

PS When is your delivery date? Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I know what you mean about finishing the car off but big difference in price! I'm awaiting confirmation on a delivery but I'm away until the 5th so hopefully any day after that...

Welcome Bow down

I reused my Thule feet and kayak rack, fitted LR roofrails and changed aero bars to next size up as shown

Carry 3 normally but somtimes 4 Thumbs Up

I thought about not fitting rails and saving money but now glad I did it - takes seconds to fit feet and bars when I need them and rails finish off FL2 IMHO
