Sweden 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 Dynamic Auto Santorini Black

Just became a FL2 owner, my first Freelander but not new to LR, has one D1 and one D3 since before. The latter can be seen on the ramp getting some well deserved maintenance.
FL2 a MY13 SD4 auto with something like a local version of dynamic pack. It has full leather, rear camera, electric seats, big Meridian, xenons etc. Bought at auction with 190'km on it.
It needs a towbar very soon (very strange with a LR without towing capability).
Also has an issue with "reduced performance" message happening ramdomly and lowering power, but clears itself after a while.
Checked codes and only found P0405 which points at EGR valve?

BTW, center caps for wheels are in the post Rolling Eyes

Thanks Thumbs Up Now have a new fuel filter in and an additional earth lead between battery and starter bolt. Let's see if it makes any difference.

Netherlands 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 Sport Manual Santorini Black
New to this forum. With the D3 forum since 2010.

Hello all,

very refreshing to see the setup is indentical to the Disco forum ; don't have to search for tabs and stuff.. Laughing

We had a Rover 420, Smart and latest Fiesta Mk6.5 for 'shopping trolleys' , but my back does not allow me to
stoop to that level of entry.. Mr. Green .. I have to 'step-up' , otherwise I'll cannot get out anymore...
We looked XXX different makes and models of 'sensible' shopping cars, and ended now with a Freelander...

I know we'll love it [ wife, 2 daughters and soon son will drive it too ], as we had one several times on lone
if the D3 was in for service...

Buying first LR and a bit worried

Hello. I'm due to take delivery of a 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 XS this week but have a concern. Although the test drive went pretty well, I found I couldn't get away quickly in first gear: on two occasions on busy roads where i had to move quick at junctions it sort of 'stalled'. The engine didn't cut but I had to quickly get into second to move on. The salesman said I'd get used to it but before I part with my money, can someone tell me if this is normal or is it a sign of a problem? Thanks. Confused

Without getting into a long winded story, the manual has a truncation map which reduces the torque available in first and reverse gears (manual only) to protect the clutch. If you are not familiar with driving a turbo diesel linked to what I've just outlined, then I would suggest that's all it is and once your familiar with the car you won't notice it as much. MY15

Hi Stuart. Good to know for me too. I bought the car on the phone without driving it. I have great confidence in my dealer, good relations for six years since I bought my D3 there. I drove several freelanders on loan and was impressed [MY 2009], but these were autoboxes. The stickshift 'reluctance' would have spooked me also. I never saw the MY2015 - as yours- until I started looking on the internet for recent Freelanders. The interieur is fab ! Thumbs Up . But If I read the list of extra's on your car, I get a bit puzzled .

L359 Auto's have all 420nm available at all times there's also an "overboost" available under certain conditions. This in use with the Electronic Hand Brake (as i like to call "Launch control") which also disengages "neutral control function" means the auto can jump away from a standstill. Its very noticeable.
Reverse Follow Me Home is the ability to select illumination of the reverse lights from the key fob for illuminating the area directly behind the vehicle - very handy feature which I use on a daily basis. MY15

Hi,
I am the new owner of a Freelander 2 SD4 SE 2013 MY. Previous cars include the Discovery 2 TD5 and Discovery 3 V8 HSE. Both phenomenal cars that gave us many miles of smiles. I am a car enthusiast and thoroughly enjoy the Land Rover engineering and design. Bought the FL2 as its torque and power curves look very promising for towing our off road caravan. The V8 had all the power but it came with higher revs and, oh, the thirst!!

Looking forward to learn a lot here on Freel2.com and also to contribute in future!

Thanks for accepting.

Regards.

Carel.
