England 2014 Freelander 2 SD4 HSE Lux Auto Santorini Black

Looks ace Pal, and you've made me super giddy about mine too. Deposit going down 7th Dec before going out to my fave restaurant to celebrate 40th birthday! I like the idea of mud flaps. Tread plates will be on mine, stainless steel - I think it gives it a smart finish and an edge when the doors are open. I'm looking forward to seeing how yours progresses Mav MY14 SD4 HSE LUX, Colour - Santorini Black, Spare Alloy, Privacy Glass, Front & rear SS tread plates, Chrome arse, Official LR coat hanger!! <-- Going soon... What software/part would need for the camera? Is it standard in HSE LUX? MY14 SD4 HSE LUX, Colour - Santorini Black, Spare Alloy, Privacy Glass, Front & rear SS tread plates, Chrome arse, Official LR coat hanger!! <-- Going soon... Any offers?

Time to change the genuine tow bar electrics from 12N & 12S to the later 13 pin.

An easy enough job.

Before

Simply unplug the original from the car and feed through the hole in the floor which is done in the factory for this very feature.

Then 5/10 minutes later, they are free from the car.

Here is the new Land Rover 13 Pin version.

Once mounted, push the clips into the mounting holes along the underside of the tow bar. Push the plug back through the hole and plug in!

Simples!!

Mine already had the relay and fuses fitted, so I have left the new ones in the box, to be sold with the 12N and 12S. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

November 23rd 2013 - DVD Install time

Saturday saw me take a trip to a buddy of mine who owns Classic Car Services in Leicester. Once I knew the new car was on the way, I dropped off the headrests from the old car for Steve to re-trim in ivory leather.

So here is the box of bits removed from the grey Freelander.

Also, the original headrests, now in Ivory Nappa leather.

So out with the front seats, so that Steve could remove the seat covers, and feed the screen cables through and out the bottom.

DVD Changer and screen box laid in place and the wiring is under way!

Then the seats go back in!

Still a bit to finish off as we ran out of time, but I'll post up some more pictures once it's all finished. Only thing left to do is connect the switched and permanent live. I am getting this done by an auto electrician as I don't want to start messing with the wires behind the fuse box.

I also had to fit the customary black badge kit. You'll notice the small genuine steering wheel badge. This has really finished it off nicely! Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Alpine DVD - Privacy -Evoque 20" Dynamic Wheels and more to come.........

I would completely Censored my pants doing that to a brand new car Laughing
What's the situation with the headrests Mav ,,, meaning do you use the original headrests to fit the screens into,,, if so can it be done by your self Question
What happened when you removed the screens from the old freely or did you have to replace the headrests before she went... BETTER looking half of the famous Twinlanders

The screens are mounted in the original headrests. In this case the Alpaca head rests from the old car.

About 5 years ago, I bought a spare pair of Alpaca headrests off ebay for 99p (plus £4.50 postage Rolling Eyes) and stuck them in the attic. So these went in the car when it was sold and Steve removed the Alpaca covers and made new ivory covers.

Unfortunately, the original 'leather' on the headrests is bonded to the foam, so you can't remove the original covers to cut a hole in etc. So to do it properly, I had new covers made. Freelander 2 HSE Lux 2013MY - Barolo Black with Ivory Leather. Just a small update, which I forgot to add.

The DVD system is now up and running. Sound either comes through the infra red headphones, or through the car speakers via the AUX socket.

So thats that bit done!

The pictures are there, there seems to a problem with images loading on some browsers, on my ipad this thread takes a few seconds before the images load, I know it is something that Martin is looking at and has been mentioned on the forum in the last few days.
