England 2013 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Auto Sumatra Black
Winter 2013/2014

It seems the Daily Express are saying we are going to have the worst winter in 100 years with significant snow fall in Novemeber!!

http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/436170/Wo...r-November

Is everyone getting ready for winter?? I've yet to get a snow shovel, de-icer, salt for the drive. But I've got fairly new General Grabber AT tyres so i'm part way there!

Is anyone ready for winter yet?? Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.

Nope.

Laughing

Although, I did buy a can of Halfords own de-icer last weekend, so I reckon I'm all set.

Sounds like the heated steering wheel will see some action Laughing

I always have jackets, tow rope etc under the boot floor. The only perk not having a spare wheel. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

James Censored Madden again! He predicts an ice age every bloody year. I personally don't think there will be anything major. Perhaps similar to last year and it is rare we get snow of any significance before Christmas. 2010 was the big exception to that but last year mild was firmly in charge until mid January.

That said, I am without 4WD now but I have got the top rated winter tyres with the Conti TS850's (Grooves not included) Laughing

Cheer up Doc, he knows you've gone to two wheel drive, if one of us is passing I'm sure we would assist you, we would take pictures to post on here first though Laughing

Was unsure what to do this year, but it's leaning towards going over to AJS for a set of Wintracs as they have offered me a fair deal on them. Whistle p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

You will have two problems, lack of ground clearance is one, other road users the other, doesn't matter how good your Winter tyres are but if some donut running on summer slicks has blocked the road your Censored Crying or Very sad p****d off with a Digital Keyboard Warrior

I'm all prepared at home, had all 4 walls front back 2 sides insulated and loft insulated with 600mm in April C/H been serviced and flushed, so its gonna be nice and snug when the cold sets in Thumbs Up
If it does snow this year it's gonna be my first experience in the snow with a freelander but from what I've read I feel I have nothing to worry about Very Happy

Last year I had the Evoque and it performed faultlessly, up to its belly in snow with 20" summer tyres on. So I'm not expecting too much problems with the Fl2 and 19" all seasons. 21MY Defender 90 S 3.0 D200

Last winter my freelander had wranglers on that were down to 3mm. First snow came and the car was shocking, it was all over the place which is understandable. I got 4 GG AT's and when the next lot of snow came the car was solid! I was really impressed. I'm looking forward to some snow this year! Black MY2013 SD4 GS Auto, Wood Company Armrest, Freel2 sticker.
