Or save the money and put it towards next years holiday for the kids - Europa Park near Frieburg in Germany is one of the best theme parks in Europe and very reasonably priced, as I understand you can stop there with your van.

Far better than anything the UK has to offer!

You need to check on the stopping with van as it maybe one of the large car parks that you use - I stayed in Staufen and travelled to the park on numerous occasions

I no longer holiday in the UK, always go to Europe these days!

Happy camping! 'There is thunder' then 'There is the warble of a V8'

i am already booked in at York, though I use Beechwood Grange which is a little more than a walk away

but we fancy a break away with out the kids, not had one, unless its going to a party for a night in the last 8 years

so its a break away with out kids this time to enjoy a bit of time together without them moaning

Been shopping in Bicester the other month, wife was happy not looking at stuff Thumbs Up Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Quite sure they will, but at £500 a couple of nights away I can eat better food and not worry about dirty sheets or the maids wiping the kettles out with the last persons old towels Wink Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Thanks for all your suggestion Thumbs Up

Decided to head off to the Yorkshire Dales and got myself booked in at grassington and also a restraurant for the Saturday night, just need to sort Friday nights food which is a toss up between the Craven Heffier or the Fountain Inn, or the No5 restraurant. And Sunday lunch Laughing Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

If you're a foodie then perhaps L'Enclume in Cartmel, but don't know if that's too far, or too expensive. They also have rooms, some at reasonable prices, if you wanted to leave the caravan behind.

might have to give it a go one day - Just been voted Britains No1 restaurant, knocking the Fat Duck on the top spot Thumbs Up

Eaten at both now (L'Enclume just the other week) and would definitely go back to L'Enclume. Fat Duck is a great experience and you can feel the 3 star service, but the a la carte menu has been dropped so just the tasting menu which rarely changes. We're big fans of Heston but his London restaurant (Dinner) is looking more appealing - not been there yet.

L'Enclume's menu changes regularly even within the seasons, the service is good (not as good as the Fat Duck), less formal and more relaxed, and a little cheaper (relatively).
