First time green lane W. Sussex

Enjoyed my first bit of green laning today (freelaning) going across Nutbourne Ford, a 100yd paved BOAT with a 300mm deep ford, just a wee taster of what my new beauty is capable of!

Got the last of the transmission fluids changed today that being the transfer box. Not easy to do at home so slipped it in with an oil change and filter at a local indie.

So all done at 47,000 miles and in the 4th year so well before the 10 year joke 10 year schedule replacement. Whistle

Interestingly the indie asked if I had changed the battery as the computer was showing issues with a power out. Any ideas you guys and this may be related to last Sunday in monsoon rain running on cruise while I flicked the trip to average mpg etc. Car for a millisecond seemed to die Surprised I threw off the cruise but no idea if that was helpful or not, car then was back to full power for rest of journey and since. ? I just put it down to the damp but it should not happen. FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Just got back from a week in Normandy visiting the beaches, museums again.
37 mpg overall but the car looks like a tractor with so much muck on little French roads.

Fitted the new to me alloys with winter tyres on, thanks Past Master.
Fitted wind defectors on the windows.
Made a new base board for the boot as I didn't want to cut up the original one, spare wheel well is full of LPG tank so the spare was siting on the boot floor, now strapped to the seat back. Common sense isn't very common.

Made the young Censored in his chav hatchback who tried to run me off the road today now think twice about just how fast a FL2 2.2 is going up hill and how angry the owners can get.

Bet he does not do that again in a hurry. Twisted Evil FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

Nothing as exciting as wzzwilson .. that looks fab btw.

Washed and polished for the winter , it's so warm I never thought I would get another coat of wax on the car at this time of year. Do it now ! Your a long time dead !!

Fitted my winter wheels today, I hope the TPMS system works as they've been sat for a while and are fairly old, off an evoque.
I found that two of my summer tyres have bits of metal or screws in them. Censored . I guess that's what happens when I have to drive over a construction site at work. I'll get them checked next week.

First I had to drive the wife's SLK through snow to the main road while she followed in the FL2, no issues on her winter tyres but passed a 4wd through a hedge Rolling Eyes then off to the Lake District over the A1 and A66 in snow. Climbed Blencathra in deep snow and mist Rolling Eyes Now in Pub stopping over and off to bar. So what have we learnt ? A SLK on Winter tyres is as good as 4wd if that has a Censored idiot behind the wheel. 🙄 FL2 MY10 TD4 GS traded in at 2 years

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Santorini Black

Hi, I think this is my first post on the forum. What I did in my Freelander 2 today was tow a a Toyota hatchback out of a ditch at the Derbyshire Bridge hikers car park (near the Cat and Fiddle) in the Peak District. Result as I've never done anything like that before!

Following on from my previous post, my Freelander 2 is an SD4 XS, 13 plate. The Toyota had nosed in to a fairly steep but shallow ditch. The back wheels were not in the ditch. Neither vehicle had a tow bar so a tow rope was connected between the rear towing eyes and I used "Grass, gravel and snow" and first gear in "Command shift" and it all went well. After the event, I was wondering if there was a chance that the Toyota's towing eye could have been pulled off the car without the car having moved? Anyway it was ok and the onlookers seemed impressed! Any advice for future situations gratefully received.
