I've got some 19" triple sport alloys ( http://assets.config.landrover.com/v22gjx/...002801.jpg ) in my shed pending getting some tyres fitted.

I'm tempted to experiment with some plastidip on the three single spokes (I think I read that someone had done that with spray paint on here a while back).

My gf thinks it's a terrible idea but I may go ahead anyway... Laughing FL2 2011 SD4 XS in Galway Green

At least with Plastidip, you can peel it off if you don't like it. But I'm not sure if black will look right with Galaway green IMHO. It would still be great to see some pictures of the finished product though. Thumbs Up

Yeah agreed on the black. I was going to try the gunmetal or *maybe* even the green. FL2 2011 SD4 XS in Galway Green

Got me some plasti dip Very Happy

So far just tried it on an old table. Pretty good, and love the texture. Although my spraying technique needs some work before I'd brave doing it on alloys... FL2 2011 SD4 XS in Galway Green

Wouldn't bother with it.
It's ok if you want to see how something looks, but for longevity I wouldn't bother.

I sprayed my spotligh surounds in orange plasti dip a few months back.
Was very pleased with the results then.
However it has now faded badly and there are a few spots where the original colour [red] is now showing through.

Now plan to remove my lights, strip them down and remove all plasti dip, then I'll spray with proper undercoat and paint. FL2 now gone and have a couple of items left for sale:-

Brodit active iPhone holder + Brodit dash clip,
Bluetooth Music Streaming Module.

Cheers I thought that might be the case as the thread just died some time back - worth a try.

I think plasti dip is great stuff. especially if you want to keep everything original, technically.

Used it on my 3 series kidneys and it still looked great after a year and plenty of washes.

Think I'll be doing the side vents and possibly grill on the FL2 Thumbs Up

I would be interested to see the results if you do plastidip the grille and vents as that is exactly what I was trying to achieve. No Longer the owner of a 2013MY Fuji White GS

For me, it's a great way to try something for a while before potentially getting something more permanent.

Also, I think spraying technique and subsequent aftercare can make a noticeable difference with durability and longevity. FL2 2011 SD4 XS in Galway Green
