My headlamps are cr@p. are they the dreaded projector type ?

My oy60 xs has bloody terrible headlights, even with the extra bright halfords bulbs.
My previous 56 plate se was way better.

Could I have projectors fitted?
How can I tell.

they will be projector, as for how can you tell, they look like xenons from the outside. When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car

Projector have manual adjustment, Xenon have automatic.
Also have a look at the headlight unit if they are Xenon it will say so on the lable attached to the unit.

The projector lens is like an eyeball as opposed to the non projector which just has a silver plastic cap over the bulb.

Projector halogen are much worse than standard halogen, long explanation in other threads on here, Merc and others are going back to reflector type for halogen headlamps, look at the latest c class lamps.

Aftermarket HID kits are illegal, they have no self levelling mechanism, will fail the MOT and could potentially invalidate insurance. Genuine HID lamps come up on the bay occasionally, not cheap though.

Thanks, good info.

Not keen on the illegal thing,
Though if. Fit auto levelling, then they must be legal, and
Cheaper than genuine hids.
