paint wear NOW WITH POLL

Just been out to my cars boot and noticed that the rubber sleeves that connect the boot to the the car have left a mark and over time this has worn away the paint down to the metal Evil or Very Mad

Might be worth checking yours too, especially if the warranty is coming up to expiring

Been to Landrover dealership and reported it, since I was passing thought it was worth popping in

Photos taken to send off, fixing is no issue, but preventing further rubbing needs to be looked at Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

With a six year anti corrosion warranty, I think Land Rover will be keen to look into this before it becomes an issue, if the paint has been breached then the zinc coatings will be next, following that it will be snack time for the metal maggots Thumbs Up

As the LR chap said, if this is a design factor it should be looked at as it can't be effecting just me, but then there's always a first

It would be interesting to know if anyone else is effected Question Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

I always keep that area nicely polished, er detailed, so the rubber tube must slip better, no sign of wear on mine.
I would think if you dont clean it much in that area the dust and grit builds up and thus the rubber has something to abraid the paint surface with and wear it away.

I was thinking that too as it is an area I don't clean as often as I should, is your area lacquered? Mine is a sort of dull finish like under the bonnet Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

Hi Nick

I have the same problem, only now noticed after your post. Spent 5 minutes this evening having a good look and both rubbers have left identical marks
