so what is in your winter survival kit ?

Having had the pleasure of being stranded on the M62 for 6 hours a few years ago ( in a Defender !) I am in the habit of keeping a large plastic box with an emergency kit in it for winter it gets swapped into whicher car I am using

so in the boot

Hi viz " motorway" gortex site coat ( works issue Laughing ) + Fleece mid layer
Wooly Hat
Scarf+Gloves
walking boots + socks
Over trousers
Full size plastic snow shovel + small steel trenchwork shovel
5000kg tow strop + 2 x D shackles (pull or be pulled Embarassed )
Sleeping Bag
2x self heating ration packs
2x Mars bar
2x lucozade
2 x water
2x self heating hot choc drink.

this is in addition to the normal bag with first aid kit torches etc, It might seem extreme but if I get stuck in the Pennines it might be in for a long night and the above could make the difference between a miserable night and an inconvenient one 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

Great advice guys: Thumbs Up

Not sure I would trust myself with all that chocolate, I would have to pack chocolate free cereal bars to have any chance of having them left for when they were needed! Rolling with laughter Black FL2

Should really get a pair of my goretex shoes in there too, leather sole work shoes are not the best in snow Embarassed Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
