United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Stornoway Grey

Hi, just found this old thread. I've been getting an increasing turbo whistle over the last few weeks. Looked at my steering collumn grommet snd sure enough it was completely loose in its hole. A bit of pulling and cursing got it back where it should be.

Brilliant, whistle gone, much less noise from engine. When I think about it now I had noticed a bit of a hot engine smell recently as well.

Sorted, cheers JGH99. Freelander 2 GS Stornoway Grey

Would that be covered under approved used? If it wasn't so bad it'd be funny.

What a great forum this is.

After getting alot of gravelly engine noise from my car i decided to check the grommet. It was totally un seated.

2-3 mins of battling has got it into place, all be it, not very well fitted as its a bit old.

Not sure what people thought of me in shirt and trousers in the work carpark on my knees with me head in the footwell !! Very Happy Neil

Does anyone know the part number of the black plastic piece that the steering goes through and which has the boot attached on it by the screws, one of which can be seen here?

Thank you.
