Remote locking - struggling for a fix

Hi all,

Long time lurking here and relying on the search function for a fix, but this time I'm stumped.

I have the apparently common central locking failure on a 57 plate 2.2 diesel, but the common fixes haven't worked.

-changed batteries in both keys, and both worked for a while
--the keys got less and less reliable, and then both stopped working.
-as it was both keys with identical symptoms, I tried replacing the receiver unit, but it made no difference
--I bought a cheap Chinese key and have successfully programmed it to the car with an autel dongle, but it doesn't work remotely either.
-there was a permanent fault code for the receiver unit, so I replaced the (blown!) alarm fuse. This has fixed the permanent fault code, but the car will still not unlock with either original or scrapyard receiver unit fitted. There is now no fault code, it just does not work.
My specialist has (probably wisely!) decided this is a can of worms they do not wish to open so I'm kind of stuck.

My questions are:

1. is there a way of checking if the body computer is receiving a signal from the receiver antenna above the rear seats?

2. I am not 100 percent certain my new antenna is good but cannot find a new one online, can anybody help?

3. Does anybody have any other sensible advice?

Thanks in advance! Smile
