The peddle went down and didn't come up. I managed to pull it up, get going and eventually it went back to normal. Anyone any experience of this issue?

I regularly get 41-42 mpg whilst driving long trips. I have found that the trick isn't to select the highest possible gear - but to try to drive at 1500rpm. Obviously, this isn't possible at high spee ...

Yep, I'm aware of all that ad I have no intention of withholding information. However, a protected NCB is a protected NCB even if the overall premium rises.

Yep - but insurers work on actuarial data and the one incident in 40 years will be seen within the wider context. Not as cheap as it would have been but continuing to have the basis of NCB attached.

You might have a protected NCB but I bet your insurance goes up next year. I ran into a deer a few years ago and that's what happened to me.
Not too concerned about the prospect of a raised premium ...

Dental floss - it's thin and it's strong. Used to use it in the trade to de-badge cars without damaging paintwork.

Tried deep fat fryers and found the cleaning/smell/unhealthy aspect too much for me.

I bought a Tefal Actifry - nothing short of amazing. Perfect results, no smell and a ridiculously small quantity ...
