Looks like the door Latch needs replacement, and yes it sounds like another freelander known "feature"

If the pump and reservoir are changed only initially, and the real cause is the rack after all, is there a chance to damage the newly installed pump cause of a defective rack?

I have been informed by the dealer that the PTC is not fitted in all countries, only in cold weather ones.
