Off roading in Derbyshire in my FL2

Hi guys,

As per this post: http://www.freel2.com/forum/topic8732.html
I have been off roading today. Its a really good route for light off roading but the track is quite deceiving. From the pics it looks ok but its very uneven and rocky with loads of pot holes. The photo of the ascent and descent dont do the slope justice either. Very rocky and HDC on slowest setting.

Here are some pics I took with my iPhone 4:

One thing I will quickly add is that even when I was sinking into the really thick mud on the drivers side, I had no doubt that the FL2's abilities would pull through.

You get that reassurance because you are in a Land Rover. I personally doubt that any rivals such as Hyundai Santa Fe or Nissan X-Trail would have made it. BMW X3 and Audi Q5 would have no chance.

These rivals have the edge in some areas but all things considered, they are just the pretenders but we are the kings! Cool LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Great stuff Doc. Really interesting to see you take the baby offroad where it's designed to go. Mine got similarly dirty the other day but the photos were ordinary. I know what you mean when you say that the photos don't do justice to the slopes. There are times when everyone on board is having a white-knuckle ride but the photos suggest you are taking the toy-humans to kindergarten!
