England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Narvik Black
Sticking door mirrors

Door mirrors have been clicking when motoring in and out for some time, the FL has been back to the dealer to have this sorted and they said it was common on the RRS and would sort. Delear said there was a TSB (technical service bullitin) out for the FL2 as this was a manufacturing problem!!

Got it back no different and the drivers side is now sticking closed and can only be opened by forcing it open.

I am getting sick of things now having had the car 5 months it is going back in next week again for:

New gear lever - sticking and difficult to operate...common fault, part on back order that many changed
Sticking wing mirrors
No start/trip reset
Knocking from front when going over speed bumps

This is on top of things already actioned

Non start - 4 attempts at that
Radio freeze - 2 attempts at that
Low noise from rear parking sensor - 4 attempts at that
Display panel faulty - 1 attempt at that
Driver window closed and then opened its self - 1 attempt

I had that on my FL2 the dealer fixed it under warranty no problems since then

Got the car back, everything done but when they have removed the centre console to replace the gear lever they have scratched the hand brake. Now this isnt so much as scratched more like taken a file to it, honestly the scratches cover an area about 4cm by 2cm along the length of the hand brake.

Guess what booked back in for console out agin and new handbrake.

Service manager could not believe they had put it all back together expecting no one would notice....at the least the door mirror and gear lever are OK

I'm thinking of buying a new FL2 HSE, but will hold off until they have got their act together, if ever.

may still end up with an X3

Could the Freelander 2 winning the Scottish suv of the year convince you?
It has given me reassurance that i have made the right desision.

After 11,000 miles had the clicking mirror problem on the drivers door. A couple of squirts of WD40 and everything was fine again

My drivers mirror has started to judder when opening but doesn't do it all the time, just now and then. I'll try the WD40 trick too to see if that solves it. ______________________

Car is a manual, handbrake is being replaced Friday.

The drivers side door mirror was replaced, I was told not to squirt WD-40 in as this would cause further problems. They actually take the mirror out and squirt grease in but I think there has been a fault with a seal.

The new one is fine and gear lever is fine, just the scratched hand brake.
