Music Quiz

Hi,
I’m stuck offshore for the New Year and have inherited the job of running the quiz. I have got it pretty much wrapped up but I want to include a ‘Beat the intro’ round. I have several thousand MP3 tracks but no idea how to embed only the first few seconds of each into PowerPoint. Have any of you any ideas that could save the day?

Cheers

Not sure about PowerPoint

But if you copy the mp3 in iTunes, you can set it to play X seconds iirc in the 'get info' if you right click the newly formed songs in a play list

Maybe a solution? I would copy each song though to avoid having to go back and reset each song to play in full Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis

On our iMac running a Windows PPT this is how (sorry if definitions are not exact as our's runs all software in German so I translate those steps).

1: Open new folio or existing one.
2: Go to toolbar "Screen Presentation".
3: Select from scroll down menu "Interactive Field" and position field on the folio.
4: Select "Sound".
5: Select "Activate"
6: Then the choice of "Mouse Klick" or "Mouse Over" - select one.
7: Menu next includes select a "Sound Programme" to install (i.e. from your own music library)
8: Or, select from "Other Source" and install.
9: Job Done (Hopefully) - Test via "Animation" under "Screen Presentation".

I've done a number this way in the past on our iMac - but nowadays I don't have any Microsoft products installed so would have to use iWorks for the next presentation with sound.

I'm no IT professional, so maybe someone else has a more efficient way to instal the sound link you require for you're quiz. Hope it goes well for you.
